What managed hosting means
Managed hosting means I take responsibility for the server environment, not just the code. SSL configured and renewing automatically. DNS set up correctly so email doesn't bounce and the site resolves consistently. Daily backups with a tested restore process. Uptime monitoring that alerts me before you hear about a problem from a customer.
Hosting as part of a complete setup
Most clients have their site built and hosted through me in one engagement. Hosting, domain, SSL, backups, monitoring, and the DNS for your email provider are all configured at launch, so nothing is left to sort out after go-live. If you're moving from another provider, I manage the migration and DNS transfer so there's no downtime during the switch.

Do you work with businesses across all of Tasmania?
Yes. I work with businesses statewide, from Burnie and Devonport on the north-west coast to Launceston, Hobart and regional areas.
What is included in managed hosting?
Server setup and configuration, SSL certificates and renewals, uptime monitoring, security patching, PHP and server software updates, and ongoing performance tuning. Daily off-site backups are a $9/month add-on. Email isn't included: I set that up with a third-party provider such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
Where are the servers located?
In Australia. All hosting is on PHAS servers in a Melbourne data centre, which means faster load times for Australian visitors and your data stays onshore.
Can you migrate my existing site to managed hosting?
Yes. I handle the full migration (files, databases, DNS cutover and SSL), usually with zero downtime. Once it's complete and verified, you can cancel your old hosting. I'll keep you updated at each step.
How often are backups taken, and can I restore from them?
Backups are a PHAS add-on ($9/month): daily, encrypted and stored off-site for 90 days, so a server failure can't take your backup with it. If something is deleted or an update goes wrong, it restores in one click.
Do I own my domain, and can I leave if I want to?
Yes to both. Your domain is registered in your name and stays yours, whoever hosts your site. If you move to another host, I'll give you everything you need: files, database exports and DNS records. There's no lock-in.
