Website Maintenance

Ongoing website care for Tasmanian businesses.

Updates, backups, security, and a local expert available when something needs attention.

A website isn't a set-and-forget asset. CMS updates, plugin security patches, SSL renewals, and hosting performance all require ongoing attention — and when something goes wrong, a slow response can mean hours of downtime and lost business. Most Tasmanian small business owners don't have the time or technical knowledge to handle this themselves, and they shouldn't have to.
My maintenance plans cover everything needed to keep your site secure, current, and performing well: monthly CMS and plugin updates, daily offsite backups, uptime monitoring, and a priority support channel for anything that needs attention. For businesses on a maintenance plan, you're not waiting in a general queue — you're dealt with first.

What's included in a maintenance plan

Every plan includes the core technical maintenance tasks, plus quarterly performance reviews covering load speed, Core Web Vitals, and any errors showing in Search Console. If I spot something worth addressing between reviews, I'll flag it proactively rather than waiting for you to notice. For businesses that want content updates included, higher-tier plans cover a set number of content changes each month at no additional cost.
Maintenance plans are available as a standalone service or included with any website design package. If you already have a site built by someone else and want a local expert looking after it, get in touch — I'm happy to take over from wherever things are at.

Maintenance FAQ

Common questions,
straight answers.

Don't see what you're looking for? Send me a message and I'll get back to you personally — usually within a few hours.

What happens if my site goes down?

I receive an immediate alert and begin investigating. For maintenance plan clients, I aim to resolve the issue within two hours — and for common hosting problems, usually much faster. You will not be left wondering what is happening or waiting in a support queue.

What are offsite backups and why do they matter?

Your site files and database are backed up daily and stored in a separate location from your hosting server. If the server fails or the site is compromised, I can restore from a clean backup quickly — without losing more than 24 hours of data at most.

I have a site built by someone else — can you maintain it?

Yes. I take over maintenance of sites built on Statamic, WordPress, and other common platforms. I start with an audit to understand the setup, document what I need to know, and take care of it from there. You do not need to stay with your original developer.

Can I request content changes as part of my plan?

Yes. Depending on the plan, a set number of content changes are included each month — text edits, image swaps, new pages, and similar tasks. Minor changes are typically handled within one business day.

How often are CMS and plugin updates applied?

CMS and plugin updates are applied monthly, after being tested in a staging environment first. Security patches are applied as soon as they are available — regardless of the regular monthly schedule.

Do I need a maintenance plan if my site was just built?

For CMS-powered sites, yes. WordPress especially requires regular security updates — an unpatched site can be compromised within weeks of a vulnerability being disclosed. Even a brand-new site benefits from monitoring and daily backups from day one.
