The Project

From historic estate to digital destination.

Calstock Estate needed a digital presence as refined as the experience itself — from a brand built from scratch to seamless online bookings.

Calstock Estate is one of Tasmania's most distinctive luxury accommodation properties — a historic homestead offering a level of privacy and refinement that's genuinely rare. When the owners approached me, they had a property worth showcasing but no digital presence to match it. The brief was comprehensive: establish the brand from scratch, then build the website around it.

The brand identity came first. Calstock needed a visual language that communicated heritage without feeling dated, and luxury without pretension. The resulting identity draws on the estate's natural surroundings and architectural character — restrained, considered, and built to endure well beyond a single season.

The website was built on WordPress with a mobile-first approach, structured to guide potential guests from discovery through to confirmed booking with as little friction as possible. Sirvoy handles availability and reservations, with Stripe processing payments — guests can browse, select, and pay entirely within the site. No third-party redirects, no drop-off points. Despite a media-rich design with high-quality photography throughout, the site achieves a perfect 100 PageSpeed score on every device.
