Property Wise Launceston
A custom WordPress property portal for a Launceston property management specialist — replacing an expensive locked-in subscription platform with a self-hosted site that pulls live listings directly from Inspect Real Estate via API.
Overview
propertywiselaunceston.com.auProperty Wise Launceston is a property management specialist in northern Tasmania. The original brief was a familiar one — they were paying a substantial monthly subscription to a third-party property listing platform that didn't quite fit how they wanted to present their listings, and customisation options were minimal. The first build replaced that subscription with a self-hosted WordPress portal. Since then the site has evolved: live listings now flow in directly from Inspect Real Estate via API, so the team manages listings in the system they're already using day-to-day and the website stays in sync automatically.

The Project
A property portal that's actually theirs.
Property Wise Launceston traded an expensive locked-in subscription for a self-hosted portal that pulls live listings straight from Inspect Real Estate.
Most real estate websites are stuck on the same compromise — pay a substantial monthly subscription to a sector-specific platform that handles listings beautifully, but accept that you can never really make it look or behave the way you want. Property Wise Launceston had been paying that bill for years, and the cost-to-control ratio had tipped well past comfortable.
The first phase of the work replaced that platform with a self-hosted WordPress build. A lightweight property listing plugin handled the listing structure, while a custom theme delivered the visual direction the off-the-shelf platform never could. Over time, the listing workflow evolved further — listings are now pulled in directly from Inspect Real Estate via API, so the team manages every property in the operational system they were already using day-to-day, and the website reflects every update without anyone needing to touch the WordPress dashboard.
The result is a property portal that's actually owned by the business — controlled by them, designed for them, and integrated with the tools they actually use. The savings against the previous subscription paid for the build several times over inside the first couple of years.
