Young Celebrations
A refresh for a Launceston marriage celebrant: rebuilt on WordPress's Block Editor, optimised for speed, and organised around couples planning their day.
Overview
youngcelebrations.auYoung Celebrations is an authorised marriage celebrant in Launceston. I built their original site in 2016. Since then WordPress had overhauled its editor and the site was due for a refresh. The brief: keep the existing structure as a starting point and rebuild around speed, easier editing, and couples planning their wedding.
What we did
- Visual refresh and updated design direction
- WordPress rebuild on the modern Block Editor
- Performance optimisation pass
- Mobile-first responsive build
- Streamlined enquiry flow

The Project
A 2016 site, brought into the present.
A returning client, a six-year-old WordPress build, and a refreshed site focused on couples planning their day.
Six years on, the 2016 build was showing its age. The Classic Editor had been replaced by the Block Editor, pages carried more weight than they needed, and the design no longer reflected how the celebrant wanted to come across to couples.
The refresh kept the content, structure and what was working, and rebuilt around three priorities: a cleaner, more current design; a performance-optimised build; and the Block Editor, so the client can update content without fighting the CMS.
The enquiry path was tightened too. Couples planning a wedding don't want to hunt for information, so pricing, ceremony options and the enquiry form are within easy reach from any page.
